Over the years I have found it essential to ensure that students have a genuine understanding of all their Maths. If there are chinks in their knowledge of the basics, then later work goes over their heads. Maths is much more about understanding than memorising, and those who come to grips with this will get better exam results. They remember because they understand - and I will develop such understanding.
I am the author of Maths software covering all Primary and High School Maths. By using this software as part of the tuition course, I find
that I can cover in 40 minutes what some teachers may take more than twice as long to cover. Not only does the software set and mark exercises automatically, but it also incorporates detailed explanations and diagrams, so I don't have to spend time during the lessons drawing diagrams, writing out solutions to problems, marking homework, etc. It is not surprising that the total cost of tuition is much less.
There are many incorrect ideas circulating about Maths tuition. Some parents feel that private tuition in their home is a convenient solution for them. Yet quite often their home is not the best environment for concentrating and learning. Teachers who offer to come to your home are usually those who have just recently ventured into providing private tuition and are taking whatever jobs they can find. Many don't realise that this tuition is a far cry from classroom teaching. It is a specialty in itself and experienced specialists will usually get the best results.
Many teachers take a somewhat hit and miss approach when giving private tuition. They depend on the student asking about what he or she thinks needs to be covered. In contrast, by utilising my unique software, I will be able to assess exactly what each student needs to cover and what gaps there may be from earlier years. Thus I can assure parents that the whole syllabus will be learnt very effectively. The lessons last for 40 minutes and are $33* each. This is usually adequate for most students, though just a few students may need two per week. Such tuition (when combined with the use of my software) ensures better understanding, effective learning and outstanding results.

* $33 is a discount rate when booking 3 lessons paid in advance. The casual rates are $35 for a 40 minute lesson. I do not arrange longer lessons because it is important that the student does homework after each 40 minutes of tuition.
